Gamble, bluff, negotiate, and tell tales of space adventure. The richest scoundrel may win the game, but everyone enjoys a great story!

Hi friends! We’re excited to announce the launch of our very first Kickstarter project for Galactic Scoundrels! We’re blown away the support we’ve gotten so far. In our first 24 hours, we managed to get to 42% of our $17,000 goal! HUGE thanks to everyone who’s backed us so far. We couldn’t make this game without you.

Cruise on over to the Galactic Scoundrels Kickstarter page and join the campaign. As a new start-up company, your support of our inaugural game release means Little Rock Games will be able to continue to develop and produce great games for years to come. We’re glad to have you with us on this part of our journey, and we’re grateful for your interest and support.

THANK YOU!

About Galactic Scoundrels

Galactic Scoundrels is a game made by and for people who love science fiction stories from the morally questionable end of the galaxy. From Firefly to Cowboy Bebop to Star Wars to Rick and Morty, the game has a trope for just about every scoundrel story out there, but it tilts toward the space-western genre more than most.

You have one goal in the game: to become the richest swindler in the galaxy, while telling some beautiful stories along the way. You’ll attempt this by agreeing to some not-very-nice jobs. Whether it’s an assassination, a kidnapping, or just an old-fashioned smuggling run, everyone playing tells the tale of each job one event at a time. Every action taken, every roll of the dice, every card played advances the story, complicating the adventure of the scoundrel who’s trying to make it to payday. Adventures can be serious or silly, tame or wild, absurd or plausible, whatever the players in your game decide. Along the way, the game will have you gambling, bluffing, negotiating, and occasionally tricking other players for a bit of extra profit.

It’s a wild, woolly mess of a galaxy out there, and it’s filled with stories. See if you have what it takes to survive them in Galactic Scoundrels.

Number of players: 3-5
Time required: 60-120 min
Recommended ages: 13+

For the month of March 2018, we played Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor from Sundae Month and tinyBuild. Join us (late) this month while we discuss the game’s aesthetics, meaningful frustration in games, and what it’s like to not be the protagonist of your own story. Also, which garbage is the tastiest? Spoiler: all of it.

Which one of us developed a romance with a sentient pile of dirt? Listen now to find out, and be sure to comment to be part of the discussion. We want to hear from you!

Also, as per usual… THERE ARE MANY SPOILERS FOR THE GAME IN THIS PODCAST.

March 2018 Game: Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor

Olivia Dunlap from Little Rock Games was in charge of picking the game this month. For March 2018, join us in playing Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor, developed by Sundae Month and published by tinyBuild! It’s available now on Steam and itch.io.

Explore a bizarre alien city, collecting trash, trying to improve your luck, and going to bed before curfew. Maybe you’ll make it off-world someday! Don’t forget to play along with us, listen to the podcast, and get in on the discussion.

Game-of-the-Month Club – Nantucket – S1, E2

Nantucket cover art

The latest episode of our game-of-the-month club is recorded, mixed, and ready for your ears! In February, we discussed Nantucket by Picaresque Studio. The discussion is a bit topsy-turvy, as the game got us exhilarated, fiery, and a bit seasick all at the same time. Sadly, no one in the group sang a sea shanty. On the plus side, we only killed forty-one baby narwhals during the recording process.

Have a listen, and, as always, comment below if you’d like to join the conversation about Nantucket!
